Musk has also been criticized for untrue or unscientific cases and widely circulated controversies. After the submission of a submarine from Tesla Musk offered to be used in rescuing the Tham Luang cave in 2018, he called divers who advised on the matter and denounced the image as "the best boy" and in response turned the diver into a defamation suit; a California judge ruled in favor of Musk. And in 2018,

He lied on Twitter that he had received Tesla's $ 420 cash-for-share share. The U.S. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has sued him for the comments. He stayed with the SEC, stepped down from his chair and accepted restrictions on his use of Twitter.
